Employment Recruiter and Head Hunter

An employment recruiter often specializes in a specific industry or occupation. For that reason, they are often very helpful in opening doors when you have no previous work experience in your desired field of work.

Many people make the mistake of thinking that a recruiter is working for them. This is not entirely true. The hiring company pays recruiters. Therefore, the recruiters’ first interest is to that company. A recruiter will only present candidates that they feel are impressive.

So remember, your meetings with recruiters are real interviews and should be treated in the exact same manner. When contacting a recruiter you will need to:

Send a cover letter stating your key accomplishments Send a resume ,

Prepare for the interview,

Send a thank you letter,

And follow up on a regular basis.

You should be prepared to ask the recruiter the following questions once you have been contacted with regards to booking an interview with a prospective employer:

Company information (industry, size)

Job description

With whom will you be interviewing? What is he/she like?

Work conditions

Salary, benefits

As soon as you have met with the potential employer you should call your recruiter to let him/her know how the interview went. You will also need to follow up with the recruiter a couple of days after the interview to find out what the potential employer thought of you.
