Typical Job Interview Questions
An Overview

While there are really no typical job interview questions, these questions will basically focus on your resume and your work experience.

The more questions you can practice for the comfortable you will be answering them.

You want to stay away from any surprise questions

This is often a screening process and only good candidates will be passed on to the next interview.

The HR (Human Resource) expert is looking for gaps or inconsistencies in your resume or answers. He/She is also evaluating your fit in the company culture.

Typical Job Interview Questions:

1. Tell me about yourself.

2. Why did you decide to study in XX?

3. What were your favourite subjects? Why?

4. How did you choose this field/ industry?

5. What did you like about you previous (current job)? What did you dislike?

6. What are your short and long-term goals?

7. Where do you see yourself in 2 years? 5 years?

8. Describe your ideal manager to me.

9. Do you prefer to work in teams or alone?

10. What motivates you? What makes you frustrated or angry?

11. If I asked you last manager what your significant strengths were, what would he/she answer?

12. If I asked you last manager what your weaknesses were, what would he/she answer?

13. How do you prioritize your day/work?

14. Why are you no longer employed at XX? Why are you considering leaving company XX?

15. Why have you changed jobs so often?

16. Why did you stay with one company so long?

17. How long have you been looking for a job?

18. Why do you want to work at our company?

19. What is your current salary? What are your salary expectations?

20. Do you have any questions for me?
