Sample cover letter in response to a newspaper ad.

The objective of this page is to give you a Sample cover letter in response to a newspaper ad.

Newpaper job ads are a good source of available jobs in your area. The downside of newspaper ads is the sheer number of responses that the company will receive. Your goal is to make sure that your resume makes it to the top of the pile.

A Cover letter is key to showing your experience in a clear, concise way.

Here are a few suggestions:

1. Read the newspaper ads for jobs carefully and underline all important information (job title, required qualifications, deadline for submission, contact name etc)

2. Only respond to ads where your knowledge and experience are a good fit.

3. Your cover letter is extremely important. Make sure to show how your experience meets the requirements outlined in the ad. Do not make reference to requirements that you do not meet. Do include the name of the contact person on the letter (you may have to call the company to find out the name).
