Learn What Interview Questions to Ask the Interviewer

Don't be afraid to have your own interview questions to ask the interviewer:

Most interviewers will allow you to ask questions at the during or at end of the interview.

The questions you ask are as important as the answers you gave during the interview.

Your questions will:

1. Demonstrate the scope of research you did on the prospective company and position.
2. Allow you to learn more about the company and position.
3. Show that you are truly interested in joining the company.

There are many questions that you could ask. Here a just a few examples:

1. Why is this position vacant?
2. What are the major responsibilities of this position?
3. What qualities/ qualifications are you looking for in a (sales rep, admin assistant...)?
4. Can you describe the culture of this organisation?
5. What are the possibilities for advancement here?
6. What are the timelines/ next steps in filling this position?
7. When can I expect to hear back from you?

It is not advised to ask salary questions during the interview process. Salary negotiations are most successful during the offer meeting when the company has decided you are their number 1 candidate.

Remember to prepare your questions in advance and in writing. This will show that you are thorough in your job search and that you are interested in the company.
